• Reinstate a long-lost
part of the City’s heritage
• Leave a legacy for future generations
• Preserve a quintessentially English
tradition
• Promote the
ancient art of change ringing on church bells
• Enhance and bring back the character of “Old London”
The tower of St. Katharine Cree has contained
bells since
before the Great Fire of 1666.

Left:
The bells being tested
|
The bells have lain in a
dilapidated state for the past hundred years,
depriving the city of an important piece of
its active cultural heritage.
Once restored, there is no
reason why these bells should not ring out
from
the belfry for another 500 years. Whoever
contributes to this appeal will
leave a legacy,
not just for one generation, but for many generations
to come.
